Through experience, I have learned that incorporating natural resources into therapy not only helps you relax but also offers much-needed distractions, especially when discussing difficult topics. When you are focusing on the physical activities that they are partaking in, you are less likely to feel inhibited or uncomfortable while discussing certain emotions.
During solution-focused therapy, I aim to help you come to terms with your past, live in the present, and plan for your future. By staying focused on the goals at hand, we can work together to achieve this and work through personal issues in the shortest amount of time possible.
In addition to examining how the family functions as a whole, together we look at how each person within the family contributes to the overall group dynamic. During family sessions, I may bring different family members together to work through difficult matters using the skills learned during individual sessions.
